Online Safety

Online Safety is about staying safe on the internet. Internet enabled devices such as computers, tablets and smart phones offer lots of new opportunities, but also present new risks.

Each year group has a bespoke set of lessons tailored to the age of the children based around keeping safe online. The children learn the importance of keeping their information safe and private, how to report anything they are unhappy about and about cyberbullying and the impact of this.

In school we proactively filter internet access to ensure that the children are not exposed to any inappropriate or adult material

Here are 5 tips for children about how to stay safe online.

Supporting Parents and carers

The speed at which technology can change and the risk that this poses can be daunting for parents and carers. We subscribe to and send out a monthly newsletter to parents that is supported by the Knowsley City Learning Centres.

Below is the Knowsley CLC guide to Parental Controls. This guide is designed to help parents and carers set up parent controls and adjust privacy settings at home, supporting their children to access a safer online environment.

Monthly Online Safety Newsletters

Monthly newsletters focused on online safety are shared with parents and carers.

Topics can include advice on safe searching and screen time, information about new apps and  guides to social media.

These are shared in association with Knowsley CLC.

If you are worried about online sexual abuse or the way someone has been communicating with your child online, you can contact the Child Exploitation and Online Protection command (CEOP) team by clicking on the CEOP logo located in the bottom right hand corner of every page or by clicking the logo here:
