We offer a range of opportunities to support the transition into school. Please use the Google Form to book.
Parent Tours
If you are yet to visit Castle Hill Infant and Junior Schools, there are two tours available to parents whose children are joining us in September 2026. These take place on Monday 1st June 2026 at 10:30am and 4:30pm. There is no need to book for the tours and you are welcome to bring your child/children with you.
Parent Information Evening
There is an after school meeting for you to come and find out about starting school. This meeting will take place on Monday 15th June from 4:00-5:00pm. There will be an opportunity to meet the adults who will be working with your child, to tour the classrooms and to ask any questions. As your child has other opportunities to visit us, we ask that this is an adult only event. Follow the signs to the grey double doors (past the office and through the car park) at 4:00pm and we will let you in.
EYFS Stay and Play Snack Session
We would like to invite both you and your child to join us for stay and play snack sessions. To ensure that these sessions are really successful, we ask that parents stay to support their child’s transition. This will allow the children to feel confident with their familiar adult as they get to know their new environment, new teachers and new teaching assistants. It is preferable if you come with just your child who will be starting school in September 2026 but you can bring both older and younger siblings too if necessary. School staff will be available to support the siblings so you can focus on your child who will be starting school in September.
Please choose the date that suits you best. You can indicate on the google form which session you would like to attend. Come to the EYFS Gate (Gate 1 - opposite the park) at the time the sessions start and we will let you into the EYFS area.
Wednesday 17th June 3:45pm-4:30pm OR
Monday 22nd June 3:45pm-4:30pm
EYFS Transition Stay and Play morning with lunch
We would like to invite both you and your child to join us for one stay and play session with lunch. We again ask that parents stay to support their child’s transition. A hot dinner will also be provided for each child starting school in September so they can experience what a hot dinner will be like. You will need to pre-order their lunch choice on the google form. Staff will be there to support you in showing your child how to line up to get their lunch and how to hold their own tray.
Wednesday 24th June 10am-11:45am OR
Thursday 25th June 10am-11:45am
Little Forest School Transition Sessions
We would like to invite your child to join us for Little Forest School Transition Sessions. To ensure that these sessions are really successful, we again ask that parents stay to support their child’s transition. Your child is welcome to attend just one of these sessions. Again you can indicate your preference on the google form if you would like your child to attend the sessions. Please come to the EYFS Gate (Gate 1 - opposite the park) at the time the sessions start and we will let you into the Little Forest School area.
